Description

Bethlehem Capel yr Annibynwyr is a chapel built of stone, covered in roughcast and pebbledash, with cement-based render dressings including quoins, surrounds, and platbands. It features a Welsh slate roof. The gable-end frontage is three bays wide and has margin-glazed multipane round-headed sash windows in the gallery. In the center, there is a tripartite window, with the central light matching those at each end. On the ground floor, there are similar square-headed windows on either side of a central round-headed doorway that has recessed panelled double doors and a fanlight with radial glazing. An attached cast-iron lamp bracket is also present.

The side elevation has a four-window range of round-headed fixed glazing with opening panes on the first floor, and segmental arches on the ground floor.

Inside, there is a three-sided panelled raked gallery with chamfered angles, a central clock, and a deep moulded soffit, supported by eight slender plain cast-iron columns. The ceiling features coving and simple thin moulding at the margins, along with two ventilators and scored render. On the pulpit wall, there is a classical moulded plaster round-headed arch with narrow imposts, a prominent keystone, decorative spandrels, and bands of moulding, which is unusually decorative. Beneath this arch is a dark-stained pulpit of an unusual design, with some dado panelling at the rear. The windows contain some coloured glass, and there are swing doors leading to the vestibule. Additionally, there is a single-storey Sunday School and vestry at the rear.
