Description
Clifton House and The Link is a pair of one-and-a-half-storey houses built in the 19th century. Each house features two bays, with the inner bays having paired windows. They have steeply pitched roofs with high gables that include half dormers, which are taller on the inside due to the paired windows. The exterior is rough cast beneath a slate roof, with brick end stacks and a shared central ridge stack.
The houses have a battered plinth at the ground level, a saw-tooth plat band, a flat impost band, and a flat sill band on the upper storey. The windows are tripartite sashes with segmental heads set in stone surrounds with chamfered arches. The entrances are located in single-storey ranges on either side. The entrance on the right has a flat roof with a parapet, and the plinth and saw-tooth plat band continue from the main range. It features a panelled door on the left under a segmental arch with an overlight, and a small window with a similar head on the right. The left porch has a pitched slate-covered roof and a half-lit door with coloured glazing. Above the northern and southern gables of the house, there is a small window offset to the west.
Access is available only to the left house. From the porch, there is a passage to the right, leading to the reception rooms on that side, with the living room situated in the paired bay. The kitchen is located to the left at the rear.
