Evergreen Cottage

Evergreen Cottage is a symmetrical, two-storey house with three windows on the front and a single-storey extension to the east. The exterior is rendered over masonry and features a slate roof with stone stacks at each end. The upper storey has three 2-over-4 pane sash windows with stone sills and segmental brick heads that have been rendered over. The front door, which is ribbed and from the 20th century, is flanked by two-light casement windows that have horizontal glazing bars, flat heads, and narrow sills. The lower extension to the left has 20th-century openings, including a door on the left and a window on the right. The east and west gable ends do not have any openings. At the rear, there are two small windows in the upper storey. Attached to the northwest corner of the house is a long, low rubble range that runs north. This range has a single-pitched roof, boarded double doors at the north end, and a door on the east side. Access to the interior was not available at the time of inspection on March 17, 1998.
