Description
Bryn Sion Presbyterian Chapel is a small Gothic-style chapel built in 1859. It has a gable-end entry with the lateral side facing the road. The north gable end is constructed of snecked masonry, while the west side and south gable end are rendered. The roof is covered with fish-scale slate, and the building features freestone quoins and dressings, as well as wide boarded eaves. There are diagonal buttresses at the northeast and northwest angles.
The entrance consists of central boarded double doors beneath a pointed arched head, which includes a fanlight with intersecting tracery. This is flanked by tall windows that also have pointed heads, intersecting tracery under the head, and small panes. In the gable, there is a recessed stone tablet that reads ‘BRYNSION / 1859’. The south gable end has two windows similar to those on the north. The west side has one window with intersecting tracery under the head and larger panes below, while there is one window on the east side.
Inside, there is a gallery at the north end supported by two cast iron piers, with a staircase located to the east. No other original features are present.
