Description
Morfa Bridge is an iron and timber bascule bridge featuring coursed rubble abutments with raked revetment walls. It has raised twin piers topped with pyramidal cappings. The bridge includes a timber deck with modern handrails, which is supported by braced timber piers with raked supports. The wider central bay has a square timber pier on the western bank that supports an ironwork girder frame for the counterpoised lifting deck, which was originally powered by hydraulic mechanisms but is now fixed.
