Description
Morfa Quay is likely from the mid-19th century and has been restored. It features a ramped revetment wall made of coursed stonework, with dressed blocks at the edges and some concrete facing and repairs. The southern part of the revetment wall is reinforced with iron tie-bars. The surface of the quay includes an inset timber frame with brick infill. Toward the southern end, there is a round iron core from a former crane embedded in the cement surface, and a timber post is located at the northern end. This quay was used for unloading Cornish copper ore for the Morfa Copper works on the western bank.
