Description
The former stable and cart-shed at Glen Hir is a single-storey building featuring a hay loft, constructed with roughcast under a hipped swept tiled roof. Each ridge apex has exposed glass bottle bases, lined with tiles placed on edge, and the eaves are dentilled. At the front, there is a roof dormer with a hipped roof and tile-hung sides, which contains a half-lit planked door above a hoist. The front also includes an offset planked door to the left with long strap hinges, a narrow six-pane window to the left, and two windows to the right. At the southern end, there is a wide planked garage door added in the late 20th century.
Inside the stable, there are two stalls separated by a wooden partition topped with iron railings and a large iron post at the west end. The floor is made of concrete with drains, and the walls are lined with timber. There is a wooden hatch leading to the hay loft. The cart-shed has been converted into a garage but originally accommodated two carts.
