Description
Goitre Wen Stables and Domestic Offices is a two-storey stable range that faces north towards the farmyard entrance. It features rubble masonry similar to that of the farmhouse and has a slate roof with a tile ridge. The building has timber bargeboards and lacks rainwater goods. Originally, there were five door openings in the north elevation, with the centre opening being slightly lower and wider; however, the three central openings are now walled up with rubble masonry. A loft hatch is centrally located above the walled openings, and a small window has been inserted into the blocking of the centre doorway. There is also a loft hatch at the centre of the east gable.
Stairs without a parapet at the west gable lead to the hayloft door, which is a modern boarded door on a sliding track. The door and window openings are topped with cambered stone arches. At the rear of the building, which faces the farmhouse, there are added lean-to domestic offices that belong to the rear yard. The shed on the left (west) serves as a wash-house and contains a copper, while the other lean-to rooms are used for farm storage.
The stable is fitted with four stalls and a loosebox.
