Description
The Old Stable Block at Gwindy is a two-storey range of buildings that faces east towards the farmyard and farmhouse. On the left side is a two-arched coach-house, while the right side features a four-bay stable range, both of which have lofts above. The stone walls show traces of limewash on the front, and the buildings have slate roofs with gutterless eaves. There are rear outshuts, and a small chimney is located to the right of the coach-house section. The stable block on the right has a roof that is approximately 0.3 meters lower than the coach-house.
The stable block includes five ground-storey door openings that alternate with four small brick-arched lunettes, with a loft aperture centered above each lunette. The first of the five main openings is round-arched, while the others feature flat arches or lintels. Two of these openings have been half-blocked to convert them into windows. Similar lunette openings are also present on the rear elevation facing west.
