Description

Glanrhyd House is a Georgian 2½-storey house built of coursed rubble, featuring an asbestos-slate roof with brick sawtooth eaves. The house has inserted skylights and freestone end stacks, with the stack on the left being larger. The main façade has two windows with openings under keyed flat arches, a central replaced door, and 4-pane horned sashes that have been replaced in their original openings.

To the left gable end, there is a lower 2-storey southwest service wing that aligns with the main house. This wing also has 4-pane horned sashes replaced in original openings, with keyed flat arches in both the lower and upper storeys. Above this wing, there is a replaced attic window in the left gable end of the main range.

On the right side of the front, there is a slightly lower half-hipped southeast wing with rendered walls, an asbestos-slate roof, and freestone end stacks. This wing features a 4-pane sash window replaced in an original opening, along with two additional replaced windows further to the right and a replaced stair window in the center. The upper storey of the southeast end wall is slate-hung. The rear of this wing has three windows with renewed 4-pane sashes and a central boarded door, all in original openings. The right gable end of the main range has two windows with replaced 4-pane sashes and an attic window, which is continuous with the gable end of a rear outshut that has a single renewed window. The rear of the main range has three inserted or enlarged windows, with the central window having previously been a doorway.

The interior has been much altered but retains a large fireplace in the kitchen of the main range, featuring a timber lintel. The main range also has a 6-bay collar-beam roof.
