Description
Scotland House, which includes a tea shop and Just Hair, is a three-storey building constructed from coursed rubble. It features a tall hipped roof made of slate and stone tiles, with swept and boxed moulded eaves. There is a later brick chimney stack at one end and a truncated rendered stack at the rear, which overlaps with an extension. The building has 12-pane sash windows with voussoir lintels, and a deep timber lintel on the ground floor beneath a timber band that extends across Grove House to the right. The late Georgian shop front includes pilasters and three-light windows flanking a central entrance with half-glazed double doors, along with a panelled stallriser adorned with punched trefoils.
On the left end, there is a dormer window, and the boxed eaves continue around the rear, where they are interrupted by the chimney stack leading to the entrance of Just Hair. An extension with a similar roof is located at the right rear behind Grove House, primarily featuring 12-pane sash windows.
Inside, the building retains a dog-leg staircase with turned balusters.
