Description
This building is a barn located to the west of Upper Stanton Farmhouse. It is constructed from grey sandstone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof. The long western wall is made of stone at the base, with a tier of timber framing above, although this timber framing is not visible from the outside due to a corrugated sheet metal roofed extension and surface corrugated metal sheeting. The barn has central opposed doors, and the east face includes a slit vent on either side, with additional slit vents in the gable ends.
Inside, the barn has a five-bay layout supported by four principal rafter trusses, raking struts, three tiers of trenched purlins, and a ridge piece.
