Description
East Barn at Henrhiw Farm is a large barn constructed from local rubble stone that has been limewashed, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The east elevation features a hipped end on the left, which is partly concealed by a lean-to cowhouse. To the right of this, there is a vertical slit, followed by cart doors with old board doors, and another slit vent to the right. The barn has a steeply pitched roof, and the gable end facing the road includes two square vents.
On the west elevation, there are slit vents similar to those on the east side, with two on either side of modern sliding cart doors. The right-hand end may be an addition, featuring a stable door below and a window above. The gable end has an external stone stair leading up to the granary door.
Inside, the barn has a five-bay roof with an additional bay for the granary at the south end. The roof structure consists of triangular principal rafter trusses with collars and ties, supported by three tiers of through purlins. One of the trusses is held up by a concrete block pier.
