Description

Pink/grey sandstone with corrugated metal sheet roof. Large barn built gable end into the hillside so as to give an additional storey at the road gable. Five bay barn with two slit vents on either side of the opposed central doors which have a small projecting hood on the main front but not on the rear. The road gable has 3 : 2 : 1 slit vents over the cowhouse which had three doors (two rows of cows and a central feeding passage) but only the left door survives with its original oak frame and plank door, with iron strap hinges. All three timber lintels survive, with a small window under the middle one. Date plaque in the gable. Door to cowhouse in both flank walls. Some blocked triangular vents. The top gable end has a taking in door to the tallet in the gable, and the ghost of an additional building now removed.

Five bay barn with four principal rafter trusses with Queen struts, three tiers of trenched purlins and ridge piece. The secondary rafters have been replaced. The cowhouse is plain, with a heavy roughly beamed ceiling.
