Description
Upper Pentwyn Farmhouse is a one-and-a-half storey house built at right angles to the hillside, constructed from thin coursed pinkish grey sandstone rubble and topped with corrugated asbestos roofs, although some stone tiles remain on the rear slopes, which are largely covered by ivy. The house has a cross passage entry, which is only open into the rear farmyard.
The front elevation features three windows: on the left is a Victorian paired 3-pane sash window under an elliptical head, next is a small 20th-century 3-pane window set into a blocked doorway leading to the cross passage, and to the right is an original opening with a drip over and a modern window. A dormer with a sloping roof is positioned over the first room. The gable end stack is located on the right side, while the position of the left-hand stack is uncertain. The right gable end includes a small window for the inner room on the ground floor and a garret window above, both featuring dripmoulds. The rear elevation is largely obscured by later lean-to extensions and ivy.
