Description
The granary and stable at Pont Rhys Powell Farm is a building constructed from painted sandstone rubble. The main roof features stone tiles on the lower courses of the front slope, with corrugated sheet metal above, while the rear slope is covered entirely with concrete interlocking tiles. The front elevation includes outside stairs leading to a gabled granary door, large doors, and a small lean-to outshut with a roof made of corrugated metal sheeting. There is a taking-in door for the granary located on the road gable end, and the rear wall has a window on the upper floor only.
Inside, the stable remains largely unaltered and is quite plain. The granary above contains a 17th-century principal roof truss with staggered purlins in the trenches, although this truss appears to have been reused.
