Description

4a and 4b Lion Yard is a two-storey building constructed from exposed stone, topped with a hipped slate roof. The facade facing Lion Street features a single-window bay, which includes a four-pane sash window on each floor and has a splayed corner. On the side facing Lion Yard, there is a two-storey range with five windows. Most of these are sash windows that are three panes wide. The upper windows have heads that align with the eaves; the windows in the third and fifth bays from the left are square, while the others are rectangular. The lower windows have brick segmental heads. At the southwest end, there is a doorway with a moulded architrave, paterae at the angles, and a cornice; it features a six-panelled door with a semi-circular fanlight above. There is a plain doorway located in the second bay.
