Description
Florence House is a two-storey building with additional blocks at the rear. The front elevation features three widely spaced bays, constructed from large painted blocks of stone that are of regular size. It has a slate hipped roof and a band at the first-floor level, with end pilasters. The centre bay projects forward and is topped with a shallow triangular pediment. On the first floor, there are two-light casement windows with small panes and architraves, while the ground floor has a 16-pane sash window with a shouldered architrave in each outer bay. The central doorway has a shouldered architrave and a half-glazed four-panelled door. The side elevation to the south is finished with scribed render and includes two square windows on the upper floor and two smaller windows on the first floor, with a stair window in between and a doorway to the left. At the rear, there is a block with a hipped slate roof that has a ventilator, a doorway facing south, and a rubble elevation to the west.
