Description
This building, which includes Carlton Guest House and S.M Sports & Leisure, is a three-storey structure with a three-window roughcast front. It was built in the 18th century as a pair with Latham House to the right, although it has undergone later alterations to the glazing and entrance. The roof is slate, and there are roughcast end chimney stacks.
The second floor features recessed modern pivot windows, while the first floor has two 16-pane sash windows. To the left, there is a later two-storey splayed bay window, which has similar glazing to the upper floor and below forms a shop window without glazing bars. The overall design includes a plain fascia and hood. The central doorway is flanked by pilasters and features a half-glazed door with sidelights. To the left, there is a double door leading into the shop, and to the right, a recessed splayed bay window with glazing bars.
The left end wall is finished in cement render and has an advanced chimney breast.
