Description
The building is a cow-house and stable located at Hendreforwydd, constructed from stone rubble and covered with a slate roof. The west wall features openings with square heads on the left side and segmentally arched heads with voussoirs on the right. To the left of center, there is a planked door beneath a timber lintel, flanked by a blocked doorway on the left and a square wooden-framed window on the right, which may have originally included timber mullions. Right of center, there is another planked door and a window opening to its left that seems to have been converted from a door. A square opening for the hay loft is roughly in the center of the range. The east wall has four ventilation slits at loft level and a small opening under a substantial lintel towards the right. The north gable end, which is downhill, features a diamond timber mullion window beneath a series of stone dripmoulds, with pigeon nesting holes in between. At the time of inspection in July 1997, the northwest corner of the range was supported by timber raking shores.
Inside, the building contains a loft and a manger, which consists of a wooden trough set on a stone base.
