Description
Prospect House is an early 19th-century, three-storey, three-window house. It features colourwashed plaster on a rubble base and has a moderately pitched slate roof that is hipped towards Rhosmaen Street, with plain eaves and rendered stacks.
The second floor has six-pane sash windows and a band running along it. The first floor has twelve-pane sash windows, also with a band, while the ground floor features canted bay windows topped with dentil cornices. The windows are Victorian sashes with narrow side sashes. The central doorway has a depressed arched doorhead, with a lattice-glazed fanlight above a panelled door.
The front elevation curves around to Rhosmaen Street, where there is a one-window elevation with a six-pane sash on the second floor and twelve-pane sashes on the first and ground floors.
To the right on New Road, there is a shopfront that adjoins the house. This shopfront has a moulded cornice over a plain fascia, with gabled fascia ends supported on fluted brackets and panelled pilasters. The recessed doorway at the right end has a floral pierced fanlight above a half-glazed door, and there are pierced rosette toplights above the plate glass shop window, which features a tiled stallriser.
