Description

The Limes Shop is a house and shop built in the 19th century. It features a roughcast exterior with a slate hipped valley roof behind parapets and two stacks at the south end. The building stands three storeys tall, with a three-window range facing the square and a four-window range on Dyrfal Road. The coped parapets are adorned with four raised piers above a plain square cornice.

On the north front facing the square, there are three small arched upper windows with small-paned casements. The first floor has a large arched sash window to the left and a Palladian tripartite sash window to the right, both featuring radiating glazing bars above the arch and a total of twelve panes; the tripartite window includes four-pane sidelights. The ground floor has a later 19th-century timber shopfront, which consists of three plate glass shop windows with a door located between the second and third windows. This shopfront is topped with an overall dentilled cornice and pilasters with consoles, with paired pilasters flanking the windows and a single flanking door. The pilasters extend down to the ground, while the others stop at a sill. The entrance features double half-glazed doors and an overlight, with large rounded stone bollards at the corners and rusticated angle quoins.

The west elevation facing Dyrfal Road also has angle quoins and a three-bay parapet. It includes four-pane sashes, with the upper floor windows being square and the outer ones blank. The ground floor has two blank windows on the left and two boarded windows with slightly higher heads on the right. The ground floor has been entirely altered for use as a shop.
