Description

Llwyn-yr-adar is a house built at right angles to the street, featuring a rendered exterior and a steep slate roof that is hipped to the east. It has a large external roughcast square chimney on the west side. The house is one storey with an attic and is small in scale, with a two-storey addition to the west of the main chimney.

On the south elevation, there is a door situated between two small 9-pane windows and two additional small 8-pane windows that break the eaves beneath small slated gables. All windows and the door have been replaced with plastic. The east end wall facing the street has two gabled eaves dormers above two windows. The north side features a tall brick side-wall stack that is now part of the added two-storey lean-to. This lean-to includes a 20th-century door with a window above on the north side and a 20th-century first-floor window to the east. There is also a garage added in the angle between the lean-to and the house.

The west end addition has a lower pitched slate roof and includes a window, door, and another window on the ground floor front. The house has a two-room plan with a large chimney breast that has been infilled. Inside, there is a central closed string staircase with a moulded rail and square newels. The first flight of stairs is enclosed with a half-rail, while the next flight features flat spiral balusters, which are also present at the landing. The staircase detail suggests it dates back to the early 18th century. The roof structure consists of heavy timbers, double purlins, and two oak collar-trusses. There are three plank doors located on the landing.
