Description
The barn range at Pennarth-Ganol is a 19th-century structure built from whitewashed rubble with a slate roof and slated barges. It features a cart doorway on the right with a cambered stone voussoired head and paired corrugated-iron doors. Above this doorway is a two-light window that rises to the soffit, set on a stone sill. To the left, there is a high barn door with a similar stone head, leading to paired planked doors that include a dividing post. On either side of this door, there are long loops, with the one on the left partly obscured by a small corrugated-iron lean-to.
Stone steps lead up to a loft door at the right end, which has a boarded door and a concrete lintel. The rear of the building is made of rubble and features a high plinth that runs along a steep slope. There are two ground floor windows on this side, both with cambered stone voussoired heads, and the upper window to the left rises to the eaves.
Inside, the barn has a collared beam roof and includes a loft above the cart-house.
