Description
22 Market Street is a terraced house dating from the late 19th century, featuring painted stucco and a slate close-eaved roof with a chimney located on the right side. The building stands three storeys tall and has two bays. On the upper floors to the left, there is a two-storey canted oriel window, which includes turned angle columns, 2-4-2-pane windows, and a top cornice. To the right, there are 4-pane sash windows on each upper floor. The eaves board has been updated in the 20th century.
On the ground floor, there is a plain square-headed entry leading to a throughway on the right and a shopfront on the left. The shopfront features a deeply-recessed entry with a half-glazed door and overlight, along with plate-glass windows on either side of the recess and at the front. The casing includes thin pilasters and a fascia, which were renewed in the 21st century. The interior has been altered on the ground floor.
