Description
Nos 6, 8, 10, and 12, including the wing at the rear of No 6, is a four-storey building with a nine-window front facing Market Street. The exterior is finished in stucco with quoins, and at the parapet level, there are scrolls on the central raised section, along with a statue of a seated figure at the right corner. The building features round-headed windows with bracketed sills, and architraves are present on all first-floor windows, as well as on the second and third-floor windows of No 12. The first-floor windows have sash glazing, while the other windows are covered over. A shallow cast iron balcony spans the full width of the front, situated above three later shopfronts.
On the left side of No 6, there is a blocked window at the top floor and a round-headed sash window on the second floor. At the rear of No 6, which is visible from the eastern corner between Market and High Streets, there is a late 18th-century to early 19th-century wing. This wing is two storeys tall with four window bays and has irregular fenestration. The front is cemented, and it has a cemented slate gabled roof divided into two sections, with a higher roof over the south-westernmost bay. In the three remaining bays towards the east, there is one window on the upper floor and two below, one of which features a tall round-headed staircase window. The sash windows are three panes wide.
