Description
79 Hill Street is a terraced house dating from the late 19th century. It features painted stucco with a slate close-eaved roof and a brick stack at the left end. The house has three storeys and a two-window range that is offset to the left. The top floor has two renewed 9-pane sash windows, while the first floor has a renewed 12-pane sash window on the left and a larger 12-pane sash window to the ground floor, positioned left of centre. There is a late 19th-century canted oriel window on the first floor to the right, which has a modillion cornice and 2-4-2-pane plate glass sashes. To the right of the house, there is an arched doorway with a recessed renewed 4-panel door and a radiating-bar fanlight.
The interior has not been inspected but is said to have been significantly damaged in the 20th century and has since been restored. The staircase is positioned at right angles to the hall.
