Description
Grove End is a terraced house dating from the early 19th century, featuring painted stucco and a slate close-eaved roof with brick end stacks. The building is three stories high and has a broad three-bay front. The windows have been renewed and include small-paned sash windows: there are 6-pane square attic windows, 12-pane windows on the first floor and ground floor to the right, tripartite 4-12-4-pane windows on the ground floor to the left, and an arched doorway at the center. The entrance is highlighted by a fine timber doorcase with pilasters, triglyphs, and an open pediment adorned with modillions. The hardwood door consists of three large panels and features flush-panelled reveals, topped by a radiating-bar fanlight. To the extreme right, there is a plain boarded through-passage door.
The front garden is enclosed by early 19th-century railings set on tooled grey limestone coping. The railings and double gates are designed with rails that have spear-shaped finials, and the square standards are topped with urn finials. The interior has not been inspected.
