Description
The George's Inn is a 19th-century inn featuring painted stucco and a slate roof, standing lower than the adjacent properties at Nos 22 and 26. The building has two storeys and two bays, with raised quoins on the upper floor and an eaves band supported by paired square gutter brackets. The two windows on the upper floor are restored horned 12-pane sashes set in rusticated quoined surrounds, each adorned with large triple keystones, sill brackets, and apron panels beneath the sills.
On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century bay window to the left with chamfered angles and a configuration of 4-4-12-4-4 panes, topped with a moulded cornice and a stuccoed base that is broached in from a square. The central door and a 12-pane sash window to the right are framed by raised stucco piers with console brackets that support fascias. Above the door, the word 'ESTABLISHED' is displayed, with '1803' positioned above the window, and a stucco cornice featuring cut-back mouldings. The interior has not been inspected.
