Description
No. 17 is an end terrace house dating from the 19th century, featuring painted stucco, a slate roof, and brick end stacks. The house is three storeys high and double fronted, with the entrance door positioned closer to the right bay. The windows have been renewed and include 12-pane sash windows on all three floors to the right, a wider sash window on the top floor to the left, which sits above a canted oriel window with a configuration of 4-16-4 panes, and a ground floor tripartite sash window with 4-12-4 panes. The oriel window is supported by flattened angle columns and has a moulded cornice.
Access to the doorway is via four broad stone steps that are flanked by railings, leading up to the entrance near the right window. The door itself is a fielded panelled door with six fielded panels set in flush panelled reveals. The doorcase has been renewed and features simple pilasters, a frieze, and a moulded cornice. On either side of the entrance are spearhead area railings with square standards and urn finials, and there is a matching gate on each side. The property has not been inspected.
