Description
5 Hill Street is a terraced house dating from the 19th century, featuring painted stucco and a slate eaved roof with a rebuilt brick stack at the right end. The left end chimney has an external brick chimney breast, which may belong to No 7. The house has an eaves cornice adorned with small modillions. It stands three storeys high and has a one-window range with a door located to the left. There is a central triple sash window on the ground and first floors, with the ground floor window being larger, and two plate glass sash windows on the second floor. The doorway on the left includes a six-panel door, with the top two panels glazed, set within a doorcase that features plain wooden piers and a panelled lintel beneath a shallow shelf hood supported by minimal shaped brackets. A basement grille is located to the right, and the left end wall is slate hung above the roof of No 7. The interior has not been inspected.
