Description
Arcade House is a terraced house dating from the 19th century, constructed of painted stucco with an imitation slate gabled roof and a rebuilt red brick chimney stack at the right end, featuring a taller shaft in front of the ridge. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window range that is offset to the left. The upper floor is fitted with plate glass sash windows, while the ground floor has a similar but larger window to the left of the central doorway. To the right, there is a four-pane shop window with a dentil cornice supported by carved scrolled brackets. There is a single step leading up to the door, which has a narrow plain overlight above it. The door is framed by a plain painted surround that features the name 'Arcade House' in raised letters, along with a painted plinth. The left end stack from the 1981 listing is no longer present, and some details have been lost, as the original listing described a stuccoed architrave around the door. All windows and the door have been replaced. The property is not available for inspection.
