Description
20 High Street is an early 19th-century small shop and storehouse constructed from rubble stone, topped with a grouted slate hipped roof. The building has two storeys, featuring outside stairs leading to a loft door at the rear, which is now enclosed. The west wall is whitewashed and includes two 9-pane sash windows on the first floor. The ground floor is windowless and has a small lean-to shop made of corrugated iron attached to it.
The north end wall facing High Street is unpainted and features a large later 19th-century shop front. This includes double doors with an overlight to the right and an 8-pane window to the left, with the upper four panes separated by original thin fluted columns. The outer piers have carved brackets and a narrow fascia. The east wall is also windowless and constructed from rubble stone.
