Description
6 High Street is a pair of large terraced houses built in the late 19th century. They are constructed from rubble stone, with a slate roof on No 6 and grouted slate on No 8. Both houses feature rendered large stacks on their end walls and in the center. The front elevations are two stories high with three windows, each having 12-pane sash windows above, slate sills, and cambered red brick heads. The central doors are located below, with tripartite 4-12-4 pane sashes in the outer bays and canted bay windows in the inner bays. The doors and windows also have cambered red brick heads, and the doors are 4-panel with an overlight. The bay windows rest on a stone base and have 2-4-2 pane sashes topped with a moulded cornice.
On the west end wall, there is a first-floor 12-pane sash window and a small gable loft light. The rear elevations include a pointed center stair light with intersecting glazing bars, flanked by 12-pane sashes.
