Description
Frogmore House is a house and shop built with painted stucco and a slate close-eaved roof. It has three storeys and features a two-window range, including two 4-pane sash windows on the second floor, a large central oriel window on the first floor, and a ground floor shopfront with a square-headed house door to the right. The oriel window has a half-hipped slate roof, a moulded timber cornice with small brackets, and 4-12-4-pane hornless sashes, with the top panes being arch-headed. There is diagonal boarding on the apron.
The shopfront is broad, supported by outer piers under large scrolled brackets with pediments above. It features a fascia with green tiles at the base and brown tiles spelling 'Fishmonger Lillycrop Poulterer'. The piers have panelled lower halves and square paterae beneath the brackets. The shop windows are made of plate glass with a mid transom, with one window on each side of the front and one canted window on each side of the recessed half-glazed double doors, which have an overlight. The recess is adorned with mosaic tiles. The shop windows include a pierced ventilation grille above, and the central recess has a shallow arch across it, with a panelled soffit inside. The plinth of the shop windows is clad in green glazed tiles, with a brown-tile skirting. The house door also features an overlight, and there is a plaque above stating 'Frogmore House 1856'.
Inside, there are white marble slabs in the shop windows and a good staircase.
