Description

Rosebush House is a house and shop built from coursed squared slaty stone and painted stucco, featuring a deep-eaved slate roof and stone end stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-window range of 12-pane horned sashes, which have cambered stuccoed heads, stone keystones, and slate sills supported by brick corbels. There is a broad stucco band and flat eaves, along with a large 20th-century dormer.

The gabled centre porch is adorned with bargeboards and has a half-glazed door with a curved overlight beneath a similar head. The porch angles are chamfered and stopped, and the stonework steps out under the eaves. The roof features imitation slates, and there is a half-glazed inner door. The left end of the building is tall due to the ground level dropping by a storey.

On the right end, there is a single-storey shop with a small stone stack. The shop has a broad window with a stuccoed head and stone keystone, featuring 20th-century glazing. To the right of the shop window is a door at a higher level, also with a similar head, which includes a half-glazed door and overlight. The right end is windowless and has overhanging verges. There is a smaller added parallel rear range with steps leading up to a door and a basement window.

At the rear of the house, there are 12-pane windows on the first floor, one on each side of a similar stair window at mid-level. The stair window is framed with stone voussoirs.
