Description
This is a house with a shop located at 8 Upper Frog Street, built in the 19th century. It features a narrow front made of painted stucco, rising three storeys and consisting of one bay, topped with a slate hipped close-eaved roof. The building has quoins and a four-pane sash window on the second floor. The first floor showcases a large canted oriel window, which has a design of two four-pane horned sashes with a moulded cornice above.
On the ground floor, there are three plain pilasters: one on each side of the shop window and a third to the right of a square-headed doorway. The shopfront is adorned with paired brackets and a gabled block over each side of the stucco fascia, along with a timber cornice that is interrupted by the lower part of the oriel window. The left wall of the building is windowless and constructed of rubble stone, while the right wall is roughcast and features two first-floor windows located near the rear. One of these is a fixed two-pane window with an etched lower light to the left, and the other is a hornless three-pane sash window to the right.
