Description

Substantial 2-storey, T plan farmhouse. Walls are of coursed Silurian shale. Slate roofs with plain red ridges, and shallow eaves and verges. E range has stone end stacks and a further stack is on rear ridge where W wing abuts. Windows are 2-light casements with timber latticed glazing, stone voussoirs and slate sloping sills. 3-window E front, with C20 hard-wood door to left, ground floor right window is a 3-light latticed replacement. N end has 2 similar windows to first floor. S end has one similar ground floor window to left and altered single-light to right. S side of rear wing has similar 2-window range, and latticed triple casement in W end wall. NW rear lean-to in angle with lean-to C20 concrete porch.

E range has a centre passage, also a cross-passage at the S end. Roof-member dated 1864. W wing contains large open fire-place at the E end, with heavy oak chimney bressumer and ceiling beams.
