Description

Pant-teg is a long farmhouse with a T-shaped plan, consisting of a main range, a rear cross wing of the same height that has been extended, and a lower stepped back wing to the left. The building is constructed of stone with renewed cement render and features a stone tiled roof with low end stacks that have flat cappings. It stands two storeys high and has a four-window range of 2/2 pane casements that are unevenly spaced, with painted brick sills on the first floor. The eaves are raised at the centre left to form a small gablet over the window.

On the ground floor, there are 3/3 pane casements to the right of a central gabled porch, with smaller windows to the left. The porch has a tall and narrow round-headed outer doorway and slits in the side walls, while the main doorway is shouldered and features a boarded door. To the left, the lower range steps down and includes a single casement window under a gablet on the first floor and two windows below. The rear wing, which extends to the right, has casements close to and on either side of an external stack, with a larger window on the first floor. The left elevation features an external stack with a former fireplace alcove in the main range and a side entrance in the rear wing. A stone wall extends from the building, creating an enclosed front garden that separates the house from a cartshed range to the left.

Inside, the former hall retains a chamfered open fireplace with a bressummer, stone stairs beside it, a central beam with chamfers and broach stops, and a doorway with a chamfered surround. The former inner room of this older unit, which was previously used as a dairy, has deep splays to its windows.
