Description

Carn Ingli and Cerrig Llwyd

Pair of semi-detached houses with lower short rear cross wings. Of Portland stone, fine ashlar with dark joints; roof of small slates; raised ashlar coping to gable ends and kneelers; central ridge stack with moulded bands and further stacks to rear and cross gables. Windows are horned sashes with leaded quarry glazing in wooden frames set in stone surrounds. Each house is 2-storeys with shallow first floor bay corbelled out, gabled roof incorporating diamond datestone, triple-light mullioned windows and square hoodmould; 4-pane sash to side. Ground floor has similar wider 4-light window and to side a flat hood supported by decorative brackets over the Tudor-arched doorway with boarded door and small side hall window. Side elevation to left has first floor oriel-type canted bay with pitched roof of ashlar slabs with inscription stone 'JET' above. Rockfaced stone plinth.
