Description
The building is a lofted coach-house and stable dating from the 19th century, constructed of rubble stone with yellow brick dressings and a slate roof. It stands two storeys high, featuring six windows on the first floor with brick jambs, sills, and heads beneath the wallplate.
On the ground floor, there is a former stable to the left, which has a 20th-century door situated between two yellow brick cambered-headed windows. This is followed by two large openings that have a single timber lintel, with yellow brick quoins on the jambs and a central pier. The first opening includes a recessed inset red-brick and timber wall leading to a tack-room, which has a boarded door and window. The second opening features double boarded doors leading to the coach-house. To the right, there is a third cambered-headed window. The ground floor windows are fitted with 4-pane sashes.
There is a lean-to on the south end wall, with one window above it on the first floor. The rear first floor has two 20th-century windows and two doors accessed by steps.
Inside, the stable and coach-house have plain plastered ceilings, some stable fittings, and flooring made of cobble and grooved brick. The saddle room includes a corner fireplace.
