Description
The gates and railings at Ty Glyn date from probably the early 19th century. They consist of two convex-curved, whitewashed low stone walls topped with cement copings and low spearhead railings. These walls curve back to four whitewashed stuccoed piers that have cement caps. Between the outer piers, there are taller spearhead rails set on lower dwarf walls. Between the inner piers, there is a pair of iron gates that ramp down to meeting-stiles, featuring a curved strengthening bar, a double mid-rail, and dog-bars, all adorned with spear heads. This structure is included for its group value with Ty Glyn and its outbuildings.
