Description
This is a small house from the late 18th century located to the southeast of Penralltycordde. It is built of rubble stone with a slate roof and features a large stone chimney at the right end. The house has one storey and a loft. The entrance is off-centre, with a 6-pane casement window to the left and another 6-pane casement at the extreme right. There are timber lintels above the windows and a small 4-pane casement under the eaves to the right of the door, which is situated beneath a catslide roof.
The left end wall originally had a chimney and a loft door accessed by steps, but the door has since been replaced by a window. The rear of the house includes a 19th-century northeast addition made of Preseli stone, which has a cart-entry on the north side and a low-pitched lean-to roof made of corrugated iron. There is a former pig-sty on the south side of the property. The rear left of the house features a 6-pane attic casement window.
Originally, the cottage had a thatched roof made with gorse underthatch, and the outer walls were whitewashed with clom applied to the top 1 metre on each side. The attic window was smaller and located under the eaves. Inside, the fireplace at the right end has a large cambered beam, and the roof structure consists of four thin scarfed cruck trusses.
