Description
Troedyrhiw is a building constructed with roughcast and whitewashed walls, featuring some ochre coloring. It has slate hipped roofs with deep paired-bracket eaves and three chimneys: one roughcast chimney off-centre on the front ridge, a large stone chimney on the north side wall, and a roughcast chimney in the rear valley. The building has a basement and two storeys, with a near square plan that is indented on the rear west wall.
The east front has three windows with hornless 12-pane sash windows and a central door that is accessed by six cemented steps. The door is a flush-panelled six-panel type with a radiating-bar fanlight, set within a whitewashed porch that has a metal tent roof, paired panelled doors, and two narrow sidelights. There is a basement window to the right.
On the south side, there are three windows with similar sashes, with blank windows on the first floor to the left and right, and an arched blank window at the ground floor centre. A basement window with small-paned sliding casements is located to the right. The rear west wall features one range of similar sash windows to the right above two basement windows, and a projecting two-window section to the left, with similar sashes on each floor and a single arched stair-light with a radiating-bar head to the right. There are two basement windows in total.
The roof has two hips, and the north side is partly constructed of whitewashed rubble stone with put-log holes. There is a slate paved area with a shallow basin for a spring, and eleven slate steps lead up to the front courtyard. To the left, there is a basement ledged door and a triple sliding casement.
Inside, the building features panelled shutters, six-panel doors, a stick baluster dogleg stair with a ramped rail, and moulded cornices.
