Description

Pencwm is a small 19th-century farmhouse that was extensively remodelled between 1920 and 1930 by Clough Williams-Ellis. The farmhouse is constructed of rubble stone, formerly painted white, with a roof of small green graded slates. Rendered stacks are located on the left end and on the ridge at the former end wall. The building is two storeys high, with a four-window front (originally three, with alterations). It features small-paned metal casement windows with painted cement sills. The four upper windows have arched heads with radiating glazing bars. The ground floor windows have blanked arches above them, with painted blank tympana covering the window, door, two windows and a border window. All windows are casement pairs, except for the triple window on the ground floor right. A ledged door provides access. The facade is offset to the right, and a rear outshut extends from the original main house. Two first-floor metal single-light windows are visible on the west end wall.
