Description

Tan Gelli is a villa constructed from rubble stone, featuring a deep-eaved slate roof and large stone end stacks. The eaves are supported by paired brackets. The main road-facing elevation is two stories high and has three windows across the front. The first floor retains three original hornless 12-pane sash windows, which have stone voussoirs and slate sills. The ground floor, altered around 1900, is roughcast and has a red-tiled pent roof that extends the length of the house, supported by four large painted timber brackets with fretwork on the raking supports. This roof covers two square bay windows, each with three lights at the front and one on each side, featuring single panes below small-paned top lights. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with a single-pane overlight, flanked by plain painted timber pilasters. There is also a 12-pane sash window in the basement below the left bay.

The end walls have overhanging verges supported by single brackets. The north end features a small 4-pane sash window on the first floor to the left. The rear west elevation is three stories tall and includes two short 12-pane sash windows on the first floor, two longer 12-pane sash windows on the ground floor, and two renewed French windows at the lower ground level. In the center of this elevation is a long, narrow 16-pane fixed stair window. The property is not available for inspection.
