Description
The Old Church of St John the Baptist is a parish church that originally served as the parish church and was used as a Sunday school and parish room from the early 20th century until the 1990s, when it was returned to church use. It is a small-scale building constructed of rubble stone with a slate close-eaved roof. The west end features a squat rubble bellcote with a single small arched bell-opening. There is a plain west doorway with stone voussoirs and a 20th-century door. The windows are wooden cross windows dating from around 1900, located under the eaves and renewed in the late 20th century. On the north side, there is one window to the right of a central tall wall-face rubble chimney topped with a slate cap and a yellow pot. The south side has three windows. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
