Description
The Unicorn Inn Public House is a two-storey building with an attic and a basement located on Corporation Street. Its exterior features scribed whitewashed render elevations, a plinth, and a three-window arrangement facing Corporation Street, with a two-window arrangement on Alfred Place and a splayed corner. The roof is slate, hipped at the corner, with wide overhanging eaves that may have been raised. There are two slate-roofed dormers on the Corporation Street front and one similar dormer on Alfred Place, all featuring small pane metal casements. The ground floor has small pane sash windows with cambered heads, although the lower sashes on the ground floor of the Alfred Place front have had their glazing bars removed. The building includes a basement hatch and boarded doors. The splayed corner, which previously had a decorative panel similar to that on Victoria House, features an entrance with a bracketed cornice, canted pilasters, and a half-glazed door.
Access to the rear of the building is through a boarded door on the right, which leads to an area that is part rendered and part rubble. The first floor has small pane sash windows.
