Description
Tyacks Hotel is a public house located on Commercial Street in Camborne. It was probably built in the late 18th century and has undergone alterations. The building is constructed of granite ashlar and features a tiled roof. It has a long rectangular shape with a double-depth range, rising three storeys high and consisting of five unequal bays. The second, third, and fifth bays have prominent two-storey canted bay windows with four-pane sashes on both floors, and moulded cornices above the ground floor windows. The walls between the floors are rendered, and the bay windows have hipped roofs.
A large, slightly sloped flat canopy extends across the ground floor between the second and third bays, protecting a former entrance that has since been altered to a sashed window. The first bay on the left has a four-pane sashed window at ground floor level and a 16-pane sash window above it. The second floor features five low two-light casements just below the eaves. The roof is hipped, with one chimney on the ridge and another on the left side wall. The current entrance is located in the right-hand return wall. The interior has been altered and the building is now partly integrated with No. 2 Church Street to the left, which was formerly known as The Unicorn Hotel.
