Description
The Corner Pin is a house that has been converted into a public house. It dates from the mid-18th century, with an early 19th-century wing, and has undergone extensions and alterations in the mid-19th century and again in the 20th century. The building is constructed of stuccoed brick, featuring a timber screen on the ground floor, and has a timber eaves cornice supported by paired brackets. The roof is covered with pantiles and has rendered stacks.
The exterior consists of a two-storey front with two windows. The ground floor has a screen made of plain pilasters with moulded imposts, a plain frieze, and a cornice. There is a door on the left end that has six raised and fielded panels, with diamond lattice fixed light windows above sunk panel risers. On the first floor, there is a four-pane sash window to the left and a canted bay window with a four-pane centre sash to the right.
Inside, there is a mid-19th-century panelled bar counter. Historically, the house was known as 'The Unicorn' public house by the year 1804.
